Dr. TONY CELELLI
Tony Celelli became President of Stark College and Seminary in Corpus Christi, Texas in November 2005 and will soon be celebrating his 15 years at the helm. Under Dr. Celelli’s leadership, SCS now grants their own accredited degrees, ranging from a Certificate in Ministry to a Master’s degree. Courses are offered at two campuses (Corpus Christi and McAllen), plus at additional teaching sites in Victoria and San Antonio. Dr. Celelli had 16 years of pastoral ministry before becoming President. He regularly preaches across South Texas, serves in interim pastorates, and consults with churches on matters of doctrine, staffing, and leadership.
Tony graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a double major in Applied Theology and Psychology, Logsdon Seminary with a Master of Divinity, and Dallas Baptist University with a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies/Applied Ethics. Tony has been married to Deanne Smith Celelli for nearly 30 years and they have two sons: Ren and his wife Jessica, and granddaughter Airibelle, who live in Corpus Christi, and Castleton and his wife Natalie, who live in Dallas. Tony and Deanne enjoy boating and traveling with their family.
TROY RIGGS
Troy Riggs began his career as a police recruit, quickly rising through to the ranks. He has served as a police chief in two jurisdictions and as a Director of Safety in two of America’s largest cities.
He is recognized as a national leader in data-led government, media relations, community engagement, and crisis management. In his 30 years of public safety, he has testified before Congress, discussed crime issues with two US Presidents, provided security oversight for major events, including the Kentucky Derby, Indianapolis 500, and the Ryder Cup. He has also successfully navigated numerous critical incidents.
As a result of his dedicated work, he has received numerous awards. Those include the NAACP President’s Award, League of Latin American Citizens (LULAC), Community Leader Award, and he is the recipient of the highest award given by his first employer, the Jefferson Cup.
As a person of faith, he has lead church services, served as a Deacon, and taught Bible Study for years. Additionally, he also speaks on a variety of topics and offers consulting and training to government, businesses and non-profits based on a Biblical foundation.Troy has been married for 30 years to Kara and they have two children, David and Caleb.
